Huawei is releasing a new “room audio” feature for the FreeBuds Pro 5 in the global market. The company is bringing this capability with the latest HarmonyOS update for the audio wearable. It has also tagged stability optimizations in the changelog.
FreeBuds Pro 5 debuted globally last month alongside the top-edge Mate 80 Pro and the Watch GT Runner 2. It has a premium look and various advanced features that promise a super immersive sound experience for users than ever before.
In the latest edition, Huawei is further improving this experience with a new “Room Audio” feature for the FreeBuds Pro 5. The capability is live with the HarmonyOS 6.0.0.240 update (7.91 MB) and is rolling out in a phased rollout to users.

What is Room Audio?
Room Audio is a package of sound effects. It has four modes: Standard, Theater, Cinema, and Concert Hall. When you choose any of these options, the sound is stimulated via the earbuds. It creates a more dedicated listening experience by adjusting the sound as per the environment.
After installing the new update, FreeBuds Pro 5 users will find the room audio feature in the Audio Connect app. It is also available on the AI Life application.
Besides this feature addition, Huawei has improved the system stability of the device. Thus, you may observe enhanced performance in the earbuds after upgrading them to the new version. You can check the changelog below.
- New: Adds a room audio feature when the earbuds are paired with an iOS or Android device.
- Optimizations: Improves system stability.
