Xiaomi 17 Max has once again appeared in the leaks corner with its key specs and an extended launch time. The smartphone was expected to debut this month. But it looks like we have to wait for a few more weeks to witness the flagship handset.
Weibo tipster @DigitalChatStation revealed the key specs, top features, and the launch time of the Xiaomi 17 Max. The device may go official by the end of next month.
Earlier, the same tipster suggested that the Xiaomi 17 Max with the Dimensity 9500 chipset will launch in April. However, the timeline has now shifted to late May.
Interestingly, this device might not bring a Dimensity 9500 processor but the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, as per the latest leak. Comparatively, Qualcomm’s SoC is stronger in terms of CPU performance, AI capabilities, and gaming power.
Apart from the chipset, Xiaomi 17 Max is going to be a large-screen flagship phone with an ultra-clear flat 6.9-inch LIPO display technology and an extremely narrow four-sided look. It may further feature an 8000mAh battery with 100W charging.
The tipster adds that the new smartphone will likely bring a 200MP primary shooter and a 50MP telephoto macro lens. Other features include a master-level symmetrical design, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for easy and secure unlocking, and full water resistance. The device may come in White and Black.
It is worth mentioning that the tipster hinted at “under-display camera” by saying – “returned to the lab”. It could mean that besides Huawei and Apple, Xiaomi is also working on a phone with an in-display camera sensor. But things are quite uncertain at present.
