Xiaomi has started working on the Android 17-based HyperOS 4.0 software iteration and it seems the company will launch this version next month. As per a new leak, the tech giant could unveil its new operating system earlier than expected for users.
Huawei and Apple have recently confirmed their Developer Conferences for next month. Both events will showcase the upcoming software versions in the mobile OS market.
Meanwhile, the Weibo tipster @DigitalChatStation noted that Xiaomi could also join other smartphone brands and launch the HyperOS 4 (Android 17) in June 2026.
The tipster only mentioned that apart from Huawei and Apple, one more tech vendor will enter the “new software version debut” stage. But following the leak, netizens speculated it to be Xiaomi with its self-developed HyperOS 4.0 software system.
If true, the Chinese phone maker will initially open the closed beta version for its flagship Xiaomi devices. Hereafter, it will step into the public testing phase, launching the official version by the end of this year – probably with the Xiaomi 18 series.

Currently, Xiaomi is running the Android 17 Developer Preview for the top four models of its family. Developers and tech enthusiasts can participate in the new software testing, while other users have to wait for announcements on this subject.

It would be worth seeing if Xiaomi will launch its HyperOS 4.0 software build version alongside Apple and Huawei next month, or delay it for some time to add significant enhancements before the launch.
