IDC has released its analysis on the Chinese foldable phone market for the Q1 2026 segment, where Huawei continues to rule, and Honor has ranked in the second spot. Seeing the report, the Magic V6 maker said that the company is learning from the best!
According to the latest IDC report, Huawei has captured 60% of the Chinese foldable market share and dominates the competition over Honor, OPPO, and Xiaomi.
The major credit for this achievement goes to new Huawei creations that are impressing customers with their refined form factor and stronger software capabilities.
Last year, Pura X and the Mate X7 were the key highlights in the foldable race as Huawei not only adopted a new “wide style” or different camera bump, but also focused on the specs part, Kirin chipset performance, battery details, and other factors.
Pura X Max is currently garnering attention in the market as the world’s first wide folding phone. And based on its booming sales, it seems the OEM will stick to the ruling position in the Chinese foldable market for the upcoming quarters as well.
Seeing these advancements, the Global Chief Marketing Officer of Honor – Guan Haitao, reposted the IDC Q1 2026 Chinese foldable market chart and said:
“Learning from the best.”
While Honor has launched incredible folding handsets to date like the Magic V6, a wide-screen fold is missing from its shelves. Moreover, the company has been stuck to the same design for at least its “book-type” foldable, which is another lagging point.
