Huawei has completed the installation of its 5-band LampSite solution at Mulonggushi International Conference Center in Zambia. This conference center is the largest and most regarded conference and business exhibition venue in Zambia.
According to the information, the Huawei Lampsite indoor network solution’s five-band comes with built-in TDD 2.6GHz. The band frequencies are: 1.8GHz + 2.1GHz + 2.3GHz + TDD 2.6GHz + 3.5GHz. This can achieve a peak download speed of 1Gbps.
The solution was deployed in partnership with MTN Zambia, and it is a significant milestone in Zambia’s indoor 5G advancements.
It’s important to know that the conference center is designed for high-density call traffic scenarios such as high-level summits, international exhibits, and large-scale business events. However, the indoor coverage solution installed previously couldn’t cope with the challenging connectivity across the premises.
Specifically, issues like indoor signal rely on macro base station coverage, weak signal through high wall penetration, limitation on multiple frequency bands on traditional DAS systems, and more.

The 5-band Lampsite solution overcomes these issues with its integrated module. Each module is capable of supporting 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G standards. Each band can distribute max 1Gbps for a single user for a rapid gigabit coverage for indoor and outdoor conditions. This enhances the experience with HD video calling, cloud conferencing, and live interactive streaming.
Its fiber optic architecture simplifies the installation, reducing the number of modules by up to 50% while providing the same coverage with reduced construction costs. The LampSite offers energy-saving powered by a 0 Bit 0 Watt solution.
