Huawei Nova 16 series entered the sales lane last week and it already scored 170% more than its predecessor. The lineup has started garnering traction in the market right from its official release – thanks to the subtle yet impressive upgrades in every aspect.
RDObservation has shared the first sales report of the Huawei Nova 16 series smartphones, where all three models have achieved 170% shipment than the Nova 15 handsets.
Details reveal that all models of the Nova 16 series have earned more than the previous-generation Nova phones. For instance, the vanilla version has made 140% in sales compared to the standard Nova 15 in the same time span.
Nova 16 Pro has gained 170% units in shipments over the Nova 15 Pro during the same period. The ULTRA variant didn’t show such a strong performance and achieved only 35% more in sales than the Nova 15 Ultra. This could be due to its name.
Early rumors suggested that Huawei could introduce a PRO MAX variant to its Nova lineup as well. But the company continued its 2026 sub-flagship with the same ULTRA model.
Since the Nova 16z doesn’t have any predecessor, the tipster compared its sales to the standard Nova 16 handset. Interestingly, the entry-level device has shipped 2% more units than its sibling.
Huawei Nova 16 series follows the same design as its predecessor. But unlike bold colors like green and purple, the new phones adopted summer-inspired tones like sea blue with white flowy lines that appear to be waves. Another is the gradient look.
The company uses the same Kirin 9010S chipset for the recently released Nova phones. Though thanks to HarmonyOS 6.1, it still accelerates the overall performance.
It would be worth seeing if the Nova 16 series will continue to draw attention in the market or lose its glow over time, just like its predecessor.
