Huawei hosted HDC last week, revealing its plans for HarmonyOS and all of its product lines coming this year. At the same time, the firm mentioned that Huawei MatePad tablets have been rocking in the Chinese market for 2 years straight.
Zhu Dongdong – the President of Huawei Consumer Tablet and PC Product Line, revealed new achievements for MatePad tablets in the Chinese market.
The chief executive said that Huawei’s large-screen models have been ruling the consumer market in China for two years straight, regardless of the ongoing challenges.
The challenges here referred to increase in storage prices. Zhu stated that despite the recent jump in storage costs, the MatePad tablets’ market share continued to rise. While many brands have already withdrawn from the game, MatePad owns 35%-37% of the market share – a really high market share.
IDC – International Data Corporation revealed that Huawei MatePad tablets have ranked first in the 2024 and 2025 shipment rankings. The company had already been serving more than 100,000 customers by the end of last year with its tablets.
Zhu Dongdong said:
“Although people often mention iPads when talking about tablets, Huawei’s MatePad series HarmonyOS tablets have been the absolute leader in China in 2024 and 2025.”
The company recently unveiled the world’s thinnest tablet – MatePad Pro Max with the largest battery over iPads. It is also the first tablet to feature a multispectral camera.
Huawei MatePad tablets will continue to gain traction in the market as the company is now working on the second-generation “Mini” models. The new creation is said to bring several crucial upgrades on board, ensuring more impressive experiences.
