Huawei Mate 90 series is ready to bring a significant breakthrough in terms of chipset, but the advancements won’t likely be limited to performance – they will reach the display segment as well. A new piece of information gives some insights into the upcoming flagship’s screen technology.
A Korean media outlet recently reported that the semiconductor and display industry’s attention is bound to the Huawei Mate 90 due to its rumored specifications.
While the company has already revealed major details about the 2026 Kirin mobile SoCs, a new report is garnering attention over the Mate 90’s display technology.
Inputs say that Huawei will apply PSF (Phosphorescent Fluorescence) tech solution for the upcoming Mate smartphones. It is the next-gen, highly efficient OLED emitter technology compared to the standard display solutions.
The new solution utilizes a special phosphorescent “sensitizer” material to easily transmit the energy to a fluorescent emitter. As a result, it significantly increases the power efficiency of the device, color purity, and display lifespan.
This multi-channel energy that runs on the TADF mechanism allows the display to make the most out of its light-emitting materials, avoiding the energy losses, unlike the previous-generation screen solutions.
And the best part is that the new PSF OLED produces highly pure and narrow-spectrum light, which is quite important to achieve a wide color gamut without over-saturating images.
Last year, Huawei introduced the high-end Mate 80 variants with 8000-nit screen brightness – thanks to the dual-layer OLED. It would be worth seeing what the company will bring this year.
