Huawei Mate XT 2 tri-fold coming in September with subtle price

Huawei Mate XT 2 is expected to debut as usual – in September this year, and it could maintain a subtle price despite the persistent memory shortage issues. A new input suggests the company will try its best to prevent a price hike for its products.

Weibo leaker FixedFocus noted that the Huawei Mate XT 2 triple-foldable smartphone is coming in September with significant upgrades and without any price increase.

The market conditions are changing drastically due to persistent memory shortage and cost challenges. As a result, phone makers are adjusting their devices’ rates.

Mate XT 2 maker has also announced price adjustments for its handsets to deal with rising component costs. Though it looks like things won’t be as bad in Huawei’s case.

Per the latest leak, the new-gen triple foldable’s price will remain intact. For comparison, the first tri-folding phone costs 20000 yuan for the base model. The Mate XTs is slightly less expensive than the XT, and costs 17999 yuan for the base variant.

  • Mate XTs (16GB + 256GB) = 17999 yuan
  • Mate XTs (16GB + 512GB) = 19999 yuan
  • Mate XTs (16GB + 1TB) = 21999 yuan

Based on the pricing details, Huawei could price the Mate XT 2 tri-fold in the range of 15000 to 20000 yuan. Though the company hasn’t announced any details on this matter yet. Hence, things could change as per the OEM’s strategy.

Mate XT 2 will bring a significant upgrade in terms of design. Instead of the same G-shaped form factor, the company is planning to adopt Samsung’s approach and turn the new tri-fold into a U-like appearance, folding the two sides at the center.
