Honor introduced a new tech term, “Agentic OS,” on the first day of MWC26 event in Shanghai, revealing a few significant characteristics of the operating system and some of its features that will come to users with the MagicOS 11 software iteration.
On June 24, the MWC 26 1st day event took place, where Honor revealed its plan for the next-generation AI-based operating system for its mobile devices – Agentic OS.
While revealing the Agentic OS details, Fang Fei, the President of Honor Product Line, said the features of the new operating system and its phased achievements will be available to Honor device users through MagicOS 11.
According to Fang, the new operating system will equip a different design framework with four prominent capabilities: Intent-driven operations, more realistic interactions, AI-powered Agentic kernel + components, and native cross-platform connectivity.
Perhaps some of these features, specifically enhanced interactions, could be visible in the upcoming MagicOS version. Though the exact details are unclear on this topic.
Fang mentioned that Agentic OS will allow the device to connect with users on one end and understand real-world scenarios, while linking with cloud models on the other end to support computing power supply, enhancing the AI service ecosystem.
In addition, the Agentic OS-powered device will itself appear as a cluster of computing power, sensors, interactions, and other ultimate tech capabilities.
After introducing a new form factor handset – ROBOT PHONE, the company is trying to turn the traditional operating systems into a completely human-centered mechanism. It will focus on three core points of AI: perception, planning, and action.
Honor says:
“These three core points of the AI agent will drive the entire industry to complete a full-dimensional reconstruction of product form, human-computer interaction logic, and system user experience, essentially making existing smart hardware a complete overhaul with AI technology.”
