Huawei is only brand seeing growth in 2026 China 618 shopping fest: Report

2026 China 618 shopping festival has now reached an end, though among various top brands, only Huawei witnessed growth during this sales period. The company is now leading the Chinese smartphone market at present with a 21% share.

Counterpoint has released its latest data on the China 618 shopping fest 2026 and called Huawei the only brand in the phone market achieving growth in this segment.

Huawei has obtained 19% year-on-year growth in smartphone sales during the 618 shopping festival. The OEM accounts for 21% of the market share, up from 16% gained last year.

Meanwhile, the entire Chinese smartphone sales have dipped by 13% YoY in this time following the price adjustments of brands over rising memory and component costs.

The report states that Huawei is experiencing this sharp jump amid ongoing market challenges due to devices like Enjoy 90 Pro Max and the standard Mate 80.

Enjoy 90 Pro Max has shown a strong sales performance in the market with an excellent pricing strategy. Its key specs, like battery life and premium look, made it stand out among other devices that went through a sudden price increase later.

Standard Mate 80 also performed well during the Chinese 618 shopping fest, collecting benefits from promotional activities and a competitive price. Counterpoint says:

“Huawei led the market with a 21% share, and it was the only major brand to achieve positive YoY growth during the 618 period. Enjoy 90 Pro Max delivered significantly strong performance and became Huawei’s best-selling model, driven by its exceptional battery life and strong value-for-money positioning.”

Apple ranked second in the latest listing – thanks to its discounts ranging up to 2000 yuan for the iPhone 17 Pro series. Trade-in incentives and price cuts led to stronger sales. Although the firm experienced a loss of 9% year-on-year.

OPPO is in the third spot with 18% of the market share – same as Apple, but slid by 12% YoY in sales. The fourth rank goes to Vivo with 17% market share and a 16% loss in shipments. Xiaomi and Honor gained fifth and sixth spots, respectively, with even bigger losses.
