Huawei launched the Nova 16 series last month, but it looks like the company has one more mid-range smartphone in the pipeline that could debut by late July. According to new information, the tech giant has an interesting device for its consumers.
Weibo tipster @FixedFocus has stated that a new Huawei Nova smartphone could debut by late July or early August. However, the tipster didn’t disclose the device’s name.
The Chinese phone maker has already launched four new Nova 16 models last month – Standard, Pro, Ultra, and a special budget-friendly z-tagged variant.
But it seems Huawei is now up with another Nova smartphone. The tipster also revealed the codename of the upcoming device – Cangshan.
Following the leak, several people asked if the new creation is the rumored Nova Wide or Nova Air handset. Although one of the Weibo netizens stated that the exact details regarding the device’s name are unclear at present.

Previous reports suggest that Huawei will launch a new Air phone called the Nova 17 Air or Nova Air. Instead of going for a flagship “ultra-thin” model, the company is in the news to introduce a cost-effective Air this year.
Although the catch is that the Airy phone is expected to debut later this year, probably after the Mate 90 series smartphones launch. Hence, it doesn’t look like an appropriate speculation for the latest leak.

In addition, the tipster mentioned that the upcoming Nova phone could wear a price tag of 2500 to 3000 yuan. That said, the company is planning to add a new member to its newly released mid-rangers, as the Nova 16z has a similar price range:
- Nova 16z (12GB + 256GB) = 2399 yuan
- Nova 16z (12GB + 512GB) = 2799 yuan
Perhaps the company could launch this mysterious handset alongside new MatePad tablets.
