Huawei is working on the 2026 Mate flagship, but the Pura 100 Pro Max has already started making space in leaks for its top-of-the-line specifications and this time, a dual-layer OLED solution could be part of this phone. If true, it would be the first time that the company’s Pura handset would use a high-end display solution.
DigitalChatStation noted that Huawei is testing two screen sizes for the Pura 100 series – 6.6-inch and 6.9-inch. Both sizes are the same as the 2026 Pura smartphones.
Although the tipster revealed that the large screen (6.9-inch panel) could upgrade to the dual-layer OLED instead of the standard LTPO OLED screen technology.
Since the Pura 90 Pro Max has a 6.9-inch display panel, there’s a chance that the OEM will use the same size for the 2027 Pura Pro Max handset. This also implies that the Huawei Pura 100 Pro Max could become the first to use dual-layer OLED.
The company first introduced a tandem OLED solution to its flagship MatePad Pro 12 tablet. Hereafter, the Mate 70 RS Ultimate became the first Huawei phone to equip the double-layer OLED, stacking two light-emitting layers on top of each other.
While the same display technology was expected for the Pura 80 Ultra, the company skipped the lineup and featured dual-layer OLED for the Mate 80 Pro Max and RS Ultimate alongside 8000 nits peak brightness.
For a clear comparison, Huawei has used a special anti-reflective display for the Pura 90 Pro Max. This particular solution reduces the screen reflectivity by 70%. It also increases scratch resistance by 16 times and drop resistance by 25 times.

Now the company could finally bring the dual-layer OLED for the Pura phone next year. There is still a lot of time, and hence, let’s take this input with a grain of salt at present.
