Just a few weeks after its announcement in China, the Huawei Mate X7 has now made its way on the global stage. The foldable brings several key updates over its predecessor, including IP58 and IP59 ingress protection, Huawei’s latest Kirin 9030 Pro chipset, a new telephoto camera and a slightly larger battery.

Mate X7 also gets slightly larger displays – a 6.49-inch cover screen with a 20.4:9 aspect ratio and an 8-inch main screen with an 8:7.3 ratio. Both are LTPO OLEDs with a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate and 1,440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. The cover screen features Crystal Armour Kunlun glass protection, while the folding screen gets an updated three-layer composite structure with a new protective layer and UTG glass.

The telephoto sensor is now updated to a 50MP sensor with a wider f/2.2 aperture and 3.5x optical zoom. The remaining module is a 40MP ultrawide. You also get two 8MP selfie cameras – one on the cover screen and one on the inner screen.
