Google will refer to HarmonyOS for designing Android PC: Huawei

Google is working on one of its big creations – Android PC, and Huawei believes that the US vendor could refer to HarmonyOS in this work. The company said that the Pixel phone may develop something like its self-made computer OS.

Zhu DongDong, the President of Huawei Consumer Business Tablet and PC Product Line, talked about the Google Android PC and how it seems influenced by HarmonyOS.

The President said that Google’s entry into the self-developed computer OS market appears to be inspired by HarmonyOS. Huawei was the first brand to launch an independent operating system for PCs and it looks like Google is following suit.

Starting with Apple, the chief mentioned that Apple MacBook will support touchscreens in the future. But the fact is that Huawei has supported this tech since the Windows era, and that too on a large scale.

For now, touchscreens are a basic feature in HarmonyOS PCs. Besides, in recent developments, the company has further improved this technology for its users.

Regarding the Google Android PC, Zhu said:

“I’ve looked at some of the definitions and ideas of Google’s Android PC, and it seems like we’ve already done it all. I don’t know if they will refer to the HarmonyOS computer operating system when designing the Android PC, but I guess they probably will.”

Google has confirmed to launch the Android PC in 2026. It has been in the news for collaborating with Qualcomm to use its X Elite chips for its new-gen PCs.

Whether the Android maker really influenced by Huawei HarmonyOS PC on this matter or it is just a mere coincidence will become clear with the official launch of the Android computer.
