Huawei Mate 80 series is sparking discussions about its sales due to a strong demand right after the launch, but it seems one of the predecessors, Mate 30, has already set a benchmark for the flagship by shipping over 20 million units to date!
Mate 30 Series debuted in September 2019 with the Mate 30, Pro, their 5G versions, and the Mate 30 RS Porsche Design. All models garnered enough attention for their elite specifications and power-packed performance.
Over the years, Huawei has introduced many premium phones, though the saying “old is gold” applies well to its Mate lineup. And the latest input further justifies it!
Weibo tipster @FixedFocus says that the Mate 80 series has received a great start in the market, but it has major competitors in its own family, such as the Mate 30.
The leaker added that the Huawei Mate 30 series sales have reached 22 million units. It’s the second-biggest record in the Huawei Mate line. The first is still the Mate 40 models, which have reportedly surpassed 32 million units to date.

Mate 60 apparently crossed 14 million, along with the Mate X5 foldable phone. On the other hand, the Mate 70 series has recently achieved the 10 million milestone.
Following the new leak, some netizens predicted that the Huawei Mate 80 sales volume would not be very high during its life cycle. Although there is a chance that it could hit around the 15-16 million mark in shipments by next year.
At present, the Mate 30 sales news of over 22 million unit shipments is grabbing more attention than the recently launched flagship phones. It would be worth seeing if the Mate 80 really hits the 20 million mark in the future or struggles in the sales segment due to supply chain issues.
