Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is the first folding device to use a 200MP main camera and to catch up to this device, Honor is seemingly preparing its next book-type foldable. Yes, the new Magic V fold model could feature a dynamic imaging setup.
Honor is one of the strongest brands when it comes to foldable phones. It has surpassed the South Korean firm in many markets with its excellent foldable creations.
Now, a new leak reports that Honor is up with a 200MP camera foldable smartphone for next year that will eventually challenge Samsung’s slim-trim Z models.
DigitalChatStation suggests that Honor is testing a 200MP main camera for its large foldable, the next-gen Magic V handset. This particular device may further use a new periscope lens with around 3x zoom capability.
The tipster added that the device will equip the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It is currently testing two battery capacities. The first one has dual cells worth 4505mAh + 2195mAh, making a typical value of 6700mAh – 6900mAH.
Another one has 4680mAh + 2320mAh battery capacities, forming a big cell of 7000 to 7200mAh. For comparison, the Magic V5 offers two cell options: 5820mAh and a larger 6100mAh silicon-carbon battery for the 1TB storage model.
If the Chinese phone maker uses any of the alleged batteries mentioned in the leak, the next-gen Magic V device will become the largest battery fold device in the market.
Besides these parameters, the tipster revealed some more specs, like extremely resistant to dust and water, with a robust folding body architecture.
Also, the new Magic foldable’s design will be ultra-thin and lightweight. Samsung and Honor are already competing for the title of the slimmest foldable maker. Let’s see which firm will take over this win in 2026.
