Xiaomi 17 Ultra is on its way with amazing zoom camera tech. The OEM has implemented some iconic technologies in the new flagship phone and one of them seems to be the continuous optical zoom sensor with around 3x to 7x zooming capability.
A Weibo tipster noted that Xiaomi 17 Ultra will likely support continuous optical zoom tech. This particular feature will offer more detailed and clearer shots.
The tipster mentioned that the new phone’s telephoto camera will come with continuous optical zoom technology and support a 70mm to 100mm equivalent focal length. Hence, it may cover a zoom range of 3x to 7x.
Continuous optical zoom is an advanced imaging technology where lenses physically move to deliver smooth and lossless zoom across a range, say 3x to 8x. It maintains sharpness at every point instead of switching between fixed lenses.
This physical movement inside the imaging component makes sure that the entire zoom range remains optical, providing superior clarity and fine details in every shot without pixelating from digital zoom.
Some other inputs suggest that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra’s rear camera setup will use a circular camera bump. This framework will probably include a 200MP Samsung S5KHPE sensor (support continuous optical zoom).
