Huawei Pura 90 Ultra will likely take the photography supremacy to the next stage with a stunning RYYB camera upgrade. The company may use the RYYB filter array for all three prominent imaging sensors for richer colors and details.
FixedFocus noted that the Huawei Pura 90 Ultra will feature three RYYB camera sensors. There could be more sensors, like an in-depth view and a multispectral lens. But the highlight will be the implementation of a color filter in all imaging parts.
It’s not the first time that Huawei will use RYYB filter cameras for its top flagships. Many Nova and Pura models debuted with single or dual RYYB camera lenses.
But with the Pura 90 Ultra flagship, the company will seemingly seed this particular filter to all camera sensors like main, ultrawide-angle, and periscope.
RYYB (Red, Yellow, Yellow, Blue) filter replaces the outdated RGGB (Red, Green, Green, Blue). This specific shift allows significantly more light to reach the sensor, improving the overall low-light performance of the camera.
Yellow filter is capable of letting in both red and green light. It effectively captures 40% more light than standard sensors. One doesn’t require high ISO or reduce digital noise manually. Just use this sensor and get cleaner and brighter images.

For comparison, Huawei Pura 80 Ultra doesn’t support any RYYB lens. It has new sensors like a 50MP 1-inch ultra-high-dynamic range primary shooter, dual-telephoto set, a 40MP ultrawide-angle, and a multispectral imaging component.
But things might change with the Huawei Pura 90 Ultra in 2026, as it may use three 50MP sensors, powered by RYYB filter, according to the latest leaked information.
The tipster further mentioned that the Pura 90 Ultra will have a 6.84-inch flat OLED screen and could be 6.8mm thick. That’s quite thinner than the previous-gen model. It would be worth seeing if the current leak actually matches the official details.
