Huawei could continue the “dual zoom camera” concept with the Pura 90 series smartphones, but there is seemingly a twist! Instead of equivalent megapixel imaging sensors, the company may introduce the most-awaited 200MP with its flagship.
DigitalChatStation recently shared new insights on the Huawei Pura 90 series camera. It also highlighted that the firm may continue its mastered dual zoom ideology.
According to the tipster, Huawei is testing dual zoom camera sensors for the Pura 90 series. The first is a 200MP lens that consumers have been hoping to see in Huawei phones for quite some time. Looks like the wait will end in 2026.
Next is a 50MP sensor to complement the zooming capability and take the macro-photography experience to a whole new level, just like the Mate 80 smartphones.
The tipster didn’t reveal much about both sensors. The two sensors are in the testing stage at present. If everything goes well, we may see them in the Pura 90 lineup.
With this leak, it appears that Huawei is not planning to abandon the dual zoom camera concept anytime soon. It refutes one of the previous inputs on this matter.

The company introduced dual-periscope camera technology this year with the Pura 80 Ultra. Unlike its other P/Pura phones, the top-notch model brought two zoom imaging lenses packed in one sensor plate with a switchable mechanism.
One of these cameras is a 50MP ultra-large sensor telephoto sensor and another is a 12.5MP large-sensor super telephoto camera. Huawei altered this setup with the Mate 80 Pro Max and RS Ultimate, using two 50MP macro and super telephotos.
This particular addition increased the optical quality zooming capability to 12.4x. Now the company is planning a major add-on to the Pura lineup – a 200MP zoom lens. Perhaps, it will really elevate the zoom photography experience for users.
