Apart from the new folding phones, Huawei is seemingly working on a fresh HarmonyOS PC with an enhanced Kirin X90 chip. Inputs suggest that the company is making this MateBook product mainly for students and the young generation.
Huawei unveiled some incredible PC devices in 2025. From the first-ever HarmonyOS PC to the pioneer MateBook Fold, the company has given iconic notebooks.
In addition, the Chinese OEM has also introduced new color variants for these MateBook devices, ensuring that all types of customers can pick the new HarmonyOS PCs.
Now, Huawei probably has a new HarmonyOS PC in the pipeline with an optimized X90 chip. The device will likely debut alongside the Pura 90 series this year.
Some Weibo tipsters have noted that Huawei is now working on a classic version of the MateBook laptop. It will debut at a price range of 3000 to 4000 yuan.
The device is expected to equip the Kirin X90A chipset. It is an inferior version of the X90 processor. For CPU configuration, the chip has 8 cores and 16 threads. It uses four 1.80GHz cores, six 1.85GHz cores, and six 2.07GHz cores.
- Kirin X90A: 4 x 1.80GHz + 6 x 1.85GHz + 6 x 2.07GHz
- GPU: Maleoon 910B

Moreover, it will focus on the students instead of general consumers. The company probably aims to encourage students in education with a range of fresh and cost-effective products. Perhaps it will add more devices to this segment in the future.
Even though the tipsters didn’t reveal the pricing of this notebook, it may belong to the MateBook D series. Huawei mostly produces D-tagged PCs for e-learning and efficient growth in the education field. Also, it has a similar cost to the leak.
It is currently unclear if Huawei will launch a new PC member to the MateBook D family or introduce a new notebook lineup focusing on students. Though we may grab the details in the coming weeks.
