Huawei dominated the Chinese foldable smartphone market in 2025, pacing ahead of the top competitors like Honor and Samsung. The OEM holds more than half of the market share for its amazing folding handsets running on in-house components.
The company has been leading the foldable market in its home ground for a while. It maintained its position at the top with iconic creations powered by 5G chipsets.
And the overall analysis now says that Huawei accounts for 66.6% market share in the 2025 Chinese foldable segment. Smart Chip Insider on Weibo has mentioned key insights on this topic, revealing the top five rankers.
Devices like the Pura X, Mate XTs tri-fold, and the flagship Mate X7 are responsible for the company’s new achievement. Their new form factor, top-end Kirin chip performance, and seamless HarmonyOS experience made them special.
Apart from Huawei, Honor is the second-ranked brand with 10.9% market share. The company gained attention for its super slim Magic V5 against the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and the clamshell product V Flip 2.
Samsung attained the third spot with 6.8% market share. Even though the firm launched its first triple foldable in the market, it didn’t surpass the top Chinese foldable makers in their home ground.
Vivo and Xiaomi followed the Galaxy phone maker with 6.1% and 4.4% share in the Chinese foldable market, respectively. OPPO holds the sixth position in the ranking with 4.0% market share, and Motorola has obtained the last place.
The competition is set to increase in 2026 as Apple is ready to enter this race with its first-ever foldable smartphone. iPhone Fold looks more like Huawei Pura X foldable. Though it might have some interesting traits over the Chinese rival that we may see in the future.
