According to DigitalChatStation, the number of Standard Huawei Mate 80 activation units has reached 1.5 million! The single device has seemingly counterattacked the high-end Mate 80 smartphones‘ hype in the market.
On the other hand, the Mate 80 Pro phones are seeing an average amount of activation units. The reason behind this “average” number is the tight supply problems.
Even though Huawei has started to alleviate the shortage by ramping up the Kirin chip production, it will take some time for the Mate 80 Pro/Pro Max and RS activation units to reach a satisfactory level.
In the meantime, the Mate 80 vanilla version is constantly winning hearts and attention of consumers for its affordable price as well as tech-packed features.

The tipster further noted that the standard Mate 80 has become the best-selling single model among the new flagship phones by other brands in the consumer market. It has been ruling the respective segment for the second half of 2025.
