Honor has finally launched its response against the iPhone Air, called the Magic 8 Pro Air, with top-of-the-line specifications and seamless features that no slim phone carries yet. And it’s time to take a deep dive into these implementations. Let’s go!
Even though Honor used the iPhone 17 Pro Max color and its Air’s look to some extent for its new creation, it’s still different and better than Apple’s slim device.
From specifications to smarter features, Honor Magic 8 Pro Air has got everything that a user would like to see in a thin but not so thin flagship smartphone.
Specifications:
Magic 8 Pro Air measures 150.5 x 71.9 x 6.1mm and weighs around 155 grams. It comes in four colors: Light Orange, Fairy Purple, Feather White, and Shadow Black.
The device equips a 6.31-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2640 x 1216 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate, 6000 nits peak brightness, 1.08mm ultra-narrow bezels, P3 wide color gamut, AI Super Image Quality, HDR display, and true 1.07 billion colors.
Honor has seeded the Dimensity 9500 octa-core chipset with 1 x C1-Ultra x 4.21GHz + 3 x C1-Premium x 3.5GHz + 4 x C1-Pro x 2.7GHz. It is paired with the Mali G1-Ultra MC12 graphics processing unit. The device pre-installs MagicOS 10.

Camera: Magic 8 Pro Air sports a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.3-inch ultra-large sensor (f/1.6 ultra-large aperture, 23mm focal length, OIS, 4-in-1 2.4µm large pixel output, a 50MP ultrawide-angle lens with f/2.2 + 16mm focal length + 112° field of view, and a 64MP periscope telephoto with 3.2x optical zoom.
It further supports color temperature and the flicker sensor. The front face of the Magic 8 Pro Air includes a 50MP selfie lens with multiple shooting modes.
Battery: Magic 8 Pro Air installs a 5500mAh lithium-ion polymer battery, supporting 80W SuperCharge wired + 50W wireless + reverse wireless charging.
Other features include IP68/69 ratings, 2.4GHz and 5GHz, Bluetooth 6.0, gravity sensor, infrared sensor, fingerprint sensor, gyroscope, compass, ambient light, proximity sensor, and accelerometer.

Honor has used a self-developed aerospace-grade aluminum unibody frame to craft the Magic 8 Pro Air that not only keeps it safe from drops, ruggs, or water, but also gives a smooth and comfortable grip to hold on.
Magic 8 Pro Air adopts the industry’s first ultra-thin high-definition zoom camera with CIPA 5.0 level image stabilization. Besides, it uses an AI zoom array flash with a brightness of 200 lux to ensure flawless night shooting. This addition offers ultra-level flash effect across the entire focal length.
AI-powered photo-editing features:
- AI flashing: Adding a little positive lighting makes the skin tone more radiant and clearer.

Magic 8 Pro Air supports a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. It is also the first Honor smartphone with a SIM + eSIM phone that offers seamless communication.

Honor Magic 8 Pro Air will go on sale on January 23. It will be available in four options:
