On January 19, 2025, Honor launched the Magic 8 Pro Air smartphone with an ultra-thin design, measuring just 6.1mm in body thickness. You may have noticed that the iPhone Air is only 5.64mm thin, but Honor’s latest release doesn’t sacrifice any important specs, which is the case with the Apple device.
Honor Magic 8 Pro Air has a slim appearance that is a result of a compound design. The corners are round, and the front and rear panels are flat. The middle frame is made of 530MPa aviation-grade aluminum compared to the 400MPa titanium used in the iPhone Air. Making it more durable against external pressure.
The camera island includes a round and pill shapes, consisting of three lenses, while the Apple device only features one. These lenses are arranged horizontally on top of a camera bump that stretches from the left to the right side of the rear.

The side of the phone has an extra physical button, labeled as the “AI button”. It is used to execute tasks, such as changing camera zoom, gallery control, and more.
The main camera is a 50MP 1/1.3-inch lens with an f/1.6 aperture. The second is a 50MP ultra-wide angle, and the third is a 64MP 1/2-inch f/2.6 aperture telephoto zoom camera with 3.2x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom.

The phone sports a 6.31-inch all-flat screen with a 120Hz LTPO panel, offering 4320Hz PWM dimming and 6000 nits peak brightness. It has a 3D Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, providing a premium biometric experience. Honor has featured this model with a high-res 50MP selfie camera.

Now comes the part that separates this new release from its rivals. The Magic 8 Pro Air packs a 5500mAh battery, which is a very large capacity for a phone of this dimension.
According to Honor, the Magic 8 Air brings more than 17 hours of video playback, and supports 80W wired super fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

It is powered by the MediaTek dimensity 9500 chipset for sufficient power and efficiency to execute tasks. Speaking of which, the new Air device has MagicOS 10 software out of the box with new AI features. The phone is available in orange, purple, white, and black variants. The price is updating very soon.
