Huawei Mate 80 series smartphones have leveled up the sales game with a 24% of increase over their predecessor. It’s the seventh week since the top flagship has been in the market, and it continues to win attention like never before in the Mate family!
SmartChipInsider on Weibo revealed that the Huawei Mate 80 series sales have surpassed the Mate 70 shipment in the first seven weeks of its release by a 24% hike.
The tipster added that the standard Mate 80 owns the highest amount of sales units – 73%. Meanwhile, the other three account for 27% of the total shipments.
Mate 70 models debuted as the strongest ones in the Huawei family due to their chipset and tank-like body design. But still didn’t achieve this level of traction in the market.
Even though the 2024 Mate lineup witnessed massive pre-order interest with over 6.7 million reservations, the sales velocity cooled down over the weeks compared to the Mate 60 series smartphones in 2023.
But this time, the company was set to change the game with a surprising model – Mate 80 Pro Max! Huawei used the name-change strategy to gather more attention this time. Another plot twist was the introduction of Kirin 9030 series chips!
Features like 8000 nits peak brightness, an AI outdoor mode with 14-day battery life, and eSIM capabilities made the new flagship lineup more attractive to consumers.
