Honor Magic phones’ slim-trim profile might be eye-catching but the real breakthrough lurks inside the device. The point hints at the cell capacity pack that’ll take a big shape with the upcoming Honor Magic V6 foldable, making it a battery beast!
The Chinese company has been using Lithium-ion and Lithium-Polymer batteries in its smartphones for years. But in the past couple of years, the OEM adopted and advanced silicon-carbon battery technology.
Silicon-carbon batteries can achieve higher energy density by 20-30% like 6000mAh and above. Besides, they offer faster charging without swelling the cell size.
Last year, Honor introduced several smartphones carrying over 7000mAh battery packs. From the entry-level X70 (8200mAh) to the Power 2 phone with 10080mAh, all devices promise a record-breaking battery life.
But it seems Honor is now working on a real battery breakthrough with the Magic V6 flagship. The device has recently passed the 3C certification, shedding light on its battery parameters and proving previous rumors to be true!
According to the leaks, the Honor Magic V6 foldable phone will feature a giant 7000mAh battery. This is around 1K more cell capacity than the previous-gen model.
Moreover, it exceeds 2025 foldable rivals such as the OPPO Find N5 with 5600mAh cell and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 carrying a 4272mAh battery. No doubt, it will possibly crush the upcoming models like Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Find N6 as well!
This would be the first time that a brand will see this level of battery pack in a FOLDABLE phone. Of course, one can imagine such implementations for a regular handset, but folding devices already have a complex design to accommodate bigger batteries.
Honor currently has two challenges! First is to use a 7000mAh battery in a book-type foldable. And the second is maintaining the slimness of the device, or making it even thinner to surpass earlier knockout scenarios with its rivals!
Let’s see how the Chinese OEM will develop a true battery beast opponent for the foreign smartphone brands.
