Xiaomi devices have been plagued with an annoying boot-up bug for quite some time, and it looks like the company will fix this issue in the HyperOS 3.1 upgrade. A new piece of information is revealing the impacts of this bug and its solution!
Boot-up refers to the very first process of the device. It’s the startup when the device powers up and runs self-test by loading the bootloader, kernel, and the OS.
The particular process makes sure that every hardware component in the smartphone is functioning appropriately and prepares the system for user interaction.
Although selected Xiaomi device owners reported a cold boot that results in a sluggish experience. The UI stutters for one or two minutes, while widgets and apps struggle to load. Finally, Xiaomi is bringing a fix to this boot-up bug with HyperOS 3.1.
Inputs reveal that HyperOS 3.1 will debut with a prominent system-level capability that pre-compiles apps before the boot process finishes. Thus, it handles the heavy processing at the boot process without impacting the phone’s performance.
On the flip side, it drastically reduces UI stutter and lag immediately after unlocking. Users will further notice an ‘Optimizing apps’ progress bar as the phone restarts.
Xiaomi is bringing a smarter and faster version of the Optimizing apps bar to ensure stability as a system update hits the device or a particular app in the smartphone.
Note that these fixes and additions are rolling out with HyperOS 3.1 beta in China for selected devices (that are dealing with the boot-up issue). It will soon appear on your defective phone as well.
