Huawei is pushing an update for the MatePad Mini, Air, and Pro series tablets, bringing a new set of HarmonyOS 6 features for users to improve the experience.
In January, the phone maker released a new Spring Festival 2026 feature pack with added capabilities in the AI segment and personalizations. You should know that the update is also released for flagship smartphones, but the changelog content is different.
Also, some of the features are stripped for tablet devices compared to their small-screen counterparts.
Gallery App
The AI photo editing feature now includes a color-smearing function, allowing you to easily replicate your favorite photo styles onto your photos with a single click. Add a touch of color and make your photos even more stunning (Gallery Editing > AI Photo Editing > Color Smearing).
Theme
Supports the addition of a limited-edition Lunar New Year accessory set for the round-faced character, crafted with ingenuity to celebrate the new year (Settings > Home Screen and Personalization > Slide to select round-faced character > Customize; this theme can be obtained from select Mate series phones that support this theme via AI AirTransfer).
Huawei Share
It supports AI-powered remote teleportation during the Spring Festival, which can trigger dazzling fireworks effects, giving you a full sense of the New Year’s ritual.
Lock screen
The Art Signature Combined Character now features new Year of the Horse exclusive styles: “Instant Success,” “Dragon and Horse Spirit,” “Lucky Horse,” and “Instant Wealth” (Pinch to lock screen with two fingers > Unlock device > Tap clock > Art Signature > Tap the default Art Signature on the interface > Tap the Art Signature input box > Combined Character).
Security
Incorporate the January 2026 security patch to enhance system security.
