HarmonyOS 5 and 6.0 operating systems are growing crazily as these new versions have reached over 7.5 million devices in just one month. That’s surprising news for Huawei fans – the company is growing constantly in the software department.
SuperDimensional on Weibo shared a graph showing that HarmonyOS 5 and 6 installations have covered 7.5 million devices in a month, which is a new high score.
The respective software systems are seeing a monthly increase of 7.5611 million units in January 2026, breaking the record of all previous versions like HarmonyOS 4.0.
Looking into the new graph, native HarmonyOS made 4.0136 million unit installations in October 2025 with a 19.6% monthly progress. Hereafter, the software versions saw a rise of 13.2% MoM, hitting 3.2347 million units in November 2025.
December showed a surge of 24.4% with 6.9573 million units installed in the native HarmonyOS world. Although the significant rise appeared last month, when HarmonyOS 5 and 6 scored 7.5 million devices. That’s the highest one-month installation score to date!

Huawei has used the “new launches” strategy to skyrocket the progress of the HarmonyOS operating system. In the past few months, the company has unveiled several flagships and budget-friendly products to expand the reach of its in-house OS.
Products like the Mate 80 series, Nova 15 handsets, Nova Flip S, Nova 14 Vitality Edition, and more have immensely increased the user base for the HarmonyOS.
Moreover, the company is constantly adding prominent features to its new software versions. One such is the AI-powered anti-peeping function that is now becoming an inspiration for brands like Honor and Samsung!
We can expect more installations in the coming months, especially with the launch of Huawei Pura X2. The foldable is in rumors to debut with the HarmonyOS 6.1.
