Last year, Xiaomi skipped an entire generation and launched the 17 series aiming at the iPhone 17 models in the market. Looks like this year, Galaxy S26 is the new target, and Xiaomi will outpace this flagship with Xiaomi 18 series featuring a bigger screen and a 200MP telephoto camera!
Xiaomi 18 series has started swirling in the rumors section, and the latest leak about the flagship has brought some exciting details related to screen and camera parts.
DigitalChatStation noted that the Xiaomi 18 series will go a little larger in 2026 compared to its predecessors. The company is testing 6.3 and 6.4 inches display panels for the upcoming top-end lineup.
For comparison, Xiaomi 17 and Pro models have a 6.3-inch screen. But the Pro Max debuted with a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED panel. It’s unclear if Xiaomi has the same “bigger screen” plans for its unique Xiaomi 18 “Pro Max” variant.
And here’s the best part of the latest leak – the company can bring a major 200MP telephoto sensor for all Xiaomi 18 series models, from standard to the high-end ones.

Even though Xiaomi hasn’t commented on this news yet, it would be a really big upgrade for the upcoming flagship. The OEM has used only a 50MP telephoto camera for the Xiaomi 17 series, which was even missing for the vanilla version.
The Standard Xiaomi 17 uses a linear telephoto lens, not a real periscope sensor. But it seems the company is on the way to revolutionize the imaging tech for the entire Xiaomi 18 series, offering a more realistic zoom photography.
Looking into these details, it looks like Xiaomi is preparing a monstrous rival against the “on the verge of launch” flagship – Samsung Galaxy S26 series.
It would be quite interesting to see if the Xiaomi 18 series will really take over the Galaxy S26 series with its new display and camera upgrades!
