Xiaomi phones and tablets are now getting new battery optimizations but with a twist. Well, these new enhancements are not coming through any HyperOS updates, though, from the February 2026 Google Play Service System Updates.
Google has pushed off the February 2026 Play System update. It promises new battery optimizations for Android devices, including Xiaomi phones and tablets.
According to the changelog, the new Google Play System update will boost the system management services. This move will eventually enhance the battery life.
In addition, the company is revamping the device’s storage and network usage scenarios so users get a seamless experience while browsing the internet or storing files and other types of data in the device. The official changelog reads:
- System Optimization: Updates to system management services have been deployed to improve Battery Life, Device Storage, and Network usage.
Even though Xiaomi timely updates its devices with new fixes, features, and improvements, it’s important to download the Google Play System Updates to your device.
These Play System Updates bring some critical security patches, privacy enhancements, and functional improvements directly from Google. Thus, all those GMS services remain reliable throughout the device’s life cycle and maintain its efficiency.
In case you have been facing any issues like battery draining or slow network on your Xiaomi phone, then update the Google Play System of your device to version v26.06. Just go to Settings > Security > Google Play System Update.
