Xiaomi has finally confirmed to launch the Xiaomi 17 series globally on 28 February. The company has recently shared the details on the X page, revealing that the upcoming flagship lineup will unlock new doors to the advanced imaging world.
According to the information, the Xiaomi 17 series will launch globally on 28 February in Barcelona. The tech giant is unveiling the device ahead of the MWC 2026 event.
Looking into the teaser, the company has shown the enlarged view of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra camera module, featuring a giant circular ring with three imaging sensors.
The company says:
“The New Wave of Imagery is arriving. Mark your calendar for February 28, 2026, 14:00 (GMT+1). Join us for the launch of Xiaomi 17 Series.”
Here, the New Wave of Imagery suggests that Xiaomi is continuing its partnership with Leica and will bring the same advanced imaging features to the global market.
It seems the OEM will introduce the same Starry Green Xiaomi 17 Ultra variant globally that it has launched in China. Besides the Ultra model, the company will unveil the base Xiaomi 17 handset, eliminating the Back Screen-oriented Pro series.
Notably, Xiaomi is unveiling its new flagship lineup just three days after the Samsung Galaxy S26 series launch event. Perhaps the Chinese firm is declaring a direct competition with the South Korean brand this time.
What major changes the company will make to the Xiaomi 17 series global variant is currently uncertain. Though we may get the details by the next week. Stay tuned.
