As we are approaching the February 26 global launch event, Huawei is teasing new features for the Watch GT Runner 2, and the latest one shows a smarter Marathon Mode. It is a dedicated capability for runners and athletes that will help them enhance their performance with every step.
Watch GT Runner 2 will be the first device in the Huawei family to bring an advanced Marathon Mode. The new teaser also shared a glimpse of the flagship creation.
Up to this point, Garmin was the only smartwatch brand to have brilliant running-related features on its wearables. But the Chinese tech company is now ready to give tough competition to its rival with its second-gen Watch GT Runner.
Speaking of the feature, it appeared to be a training-focused function in the smartwatch. It will probably help users to prepare more effectively without any interruptions for long-distance races. The new mode is the answer to all these issues:
- Daily/Weekly track of exercises and performance
- If your rhythm is off, it will suggest better workouts
- If your energy is falling enough, it will suggest rest and supplement intake.

Interestingly, the initial part of the clip shows a cartoonish sketch of the smartwatch. Perhaps it’s a partial glimpse at the Watch GT Runner 2. The dial seems big enough to show you workout content. On the left side, it has a rotating crown and probably a function button.
What else the new Marathon Mode can do is currently uncertain. But it will surely contribute to improving runners’ performance and increasing their proficiency level day by day. You can check the complete video teaser below.
