Huawei and Apple not only performed great on the phone battleground but also in the 2025 global smartwatch market. Both brands are in the top two positions in the latest ranking, pushing all other tech vendors back in the wearable competition.
Counterpoint has recently released its analysis on the global smartwatch market in 2025, where Huawei and Apple appeared to be doing great with their creations.
The report says that Apple and Huawei are driving the overall momentum of the smartwatch market this year. Meanwhile, the Watch GT maker has been a strong performer in its home ground, making China emerge as the fastest-growing market.
According to the details, Huawei has made the highest smartwatch sales progress among all rankers. The company holds 17% of the market share, up from 13%.
Besides, it has achieved 30% year-over-year shipment growth and stands as a leader in the sales progress amid brands like Apple, Samsung, imoo, Xiaomi, and more.
Counterpoint said:
“Huawei recorded the highest shipment growth among the top five brands as it saw strong consumer uptake for its advanced, competitively priced products in China. It also benefited from the government subsidies supporting electronic sales in the country.”
Apple has ranked first in the new listing. The report mentioned that Apple is seeing its first “shipment growth YoY” since 2022 – thanks to devices like the Watch Series 11, Watch Ultra 3, and Watch SE 3, ranging from cost-friendly to premium.
The iPhone maker owns 23% of the market (last year – 22%) and 8% of YoY shipment growth. Xiaomi has appeared in third place with 18% YoY sales progress. It owns 9% of the global smartwatch market share in 2025.
Samsung witnessed a major drop of 12% in the shipment progress and 2% decline in the market share (9 to 7% YoY). The fifth rank goes to imoo with 9% progress.
Overall, the global smartwatch shipments grew 4% YoY last year. Brands are now expanding their capabilities to track a wider range of health traits for users. With ongoing advancements and strong consumer demand, the smartwatch sales may record high-single-digit percentage YoY growth in 2026.
