Huawei says 5G-A x AI can accelerate mobile network evolution

On March 2, Huawei introduced several 5G-A and AI network solutions to boost the mobile phone user experience. While unveiling these tech-pack products, the company said that the latest network and AI techs can lead to a better internet era.

Li Peng, the Senior Vice President of Huawei and President of ICT Sales and Services, shared a few works on how the combination of 5G-A and AI can be beneficial to accelerate the mobile network evolution in China.

The chief mentioned that the deep integration of networks and AI is already reshaping the value of connectivity. But the fusion of 5G-A and AI will take the network experience for users to a whole new level.

According to the OEM, the smartphone world is now entering the era of the intelligent agent internet. In the next ten years, the value of networks will switch from human-to-human communication to “intelligent agent interconnection”.

5G-A is already bringing richer network resources compared to previous-generation technologies. It enables network advantages to be present at critical moments, enhancing the visibility of the user experience.

Meanwhile, AI is helpful in terms of expanding traditional calls alongside high-frequency functions like stenography, real-time translation, as well as chatbot services.

Huawei has even integrated AI into the Internet Acceleration Assistant that offers a reliable experience for complex tasks like live streaming, gaming, and more.

The company said that 5G-A and AI integration is deeply penetrating the intelligent links or core industrial production processes. Looking ahead, Huawei is planning to further enhance the 5G-A and AI fusion for a super mobile network evolution.

And this could become possible in three steps:

  • Evolve across all services, devices, and frequency bands to 5G-A to solidify the ecosystem foundation.
  • Enhance the intelligence of the BOM domain to support diversified business operations and maintenance.
  • Promote the intelligentization of infrastructure to prepare for network architecture upgrades.

Li Peng said:

“Huawei is willing to work hand in hand with operators and industry partners. We will take the integration of 5G-A and AI as a starting point, and continue to explore valuable scenarios for 6G. We will improve business value and network efficiency, and fully support operators in their transformation into AI service providers.”
