Honor Magic V6 launched in China with largest battery, strongest hinge

After the world premiere at MWC 2026, Honor today officially launched the Magic V6 in China. The device has debuted with three WOW factors: the slimmest design profile, the strongest hinge technology, and the biggest battery pack ever. It’s a perfect blend of beauty and powerful upgrades.

Honor has already shared an official glimpse of the Magic V6 foldable at the MWC26 stage, showing how its latest creation can defeat its competitors in the folding smartphone market.

While the company revealed several prime parameters of the new-gen foldable at the event, it didn’t completely drop the curtain on the device, keeping certain specs under wraps.

Now the Honor Magic V6 has launched in China, showcasing all of its key specs like dimensions, camera sensors, and more details on every small segment of the device. Let’s go through these changes in detail.

Specifications

Magic V6 looks more polished now. It’s just 8.75mm when in the folded state, shaving off a bit from its predecessor. Meanwhile, the device becomes 4mm when open. It is available in four striking colors: White, Red, Gold, and Black.

The smartphone’s 7.95-inch main screen is as good as ever with 5000 nits peak brightness. It’s bright, smooth, and perfect for everything – thanks to the UTG technology for the inner screen and the all-new 4-in-1 glass coating for the 6.5-inch cover display, which strengthens the outer screen while improving the overall visibility.

With the Magic V6, Honor has focused on three core points:

  • Ultra-reliable: Each screen is plated with 5600 layers of silicon nitride, which is naturally wear-resistant and can withstand electric drill madness.
  • Hypertransparent: Folding the only low-reverse coating integrated outer screen, with a reflectivity as low as 1.5%, no matter how you look indoors or outdoors.
  • Super Eye Protection: Magic V6 has passed the German Rheinland TÜV global eye protection certification. It will not hurt your eyes after looking at it for a long time, and it is eye-catching all day long.

Inner screen: 7.95 inches BOE OLED with 5000nit peak brightness, 2352×2172 pixels resolution, 1-120Hz 8T LTPO refresh rate, 4320Hz high frequency PWM dimming, 1.07 billion colors, full screen AOD display, UTG glass, and crease improvement 44%.

Cover Screen: It has 6.52 inches BOE OLED flat screen, 6000nits peak brightness, 1-120Hz 8T LTPO, 4320Hz high frequency PWM dimming, supports 1.07 billion colors, full screen AOD display, and supreme coating tech.

Hinge: Super Shield Steel Tech

Durability also gets a noteworthy upgrade. Honor has used a strong steel hinge, which is sturdier, smoother, and still rated IP69 for water resistance. The OEM also greatly improved the display crease factor, featuring a nearly invisible crease ever.

The tech giant says the foldable equips a new generation shield steel hinge, crafted with an air-grade forging process that casts the fuselage. The overall strength of the hinge is 2800MPa, exceeding that of the car’s A-pillar. It is tough and stable.

Performance

Honor has used the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Supreme Edition chip to power the Magic V6 foldable. Apps load instantly, games run smoothly, and you’ve got 12GB of RAM backing it all up. Storage comes in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB options.

The device offers a 120FPS full frame game ecosystem –  thanks to the ultimate Snapdragon chipset, paired with a powerful graphics processing unit.

In addition, the company has significantly upgraded the hardware in terms of optics. While the Magic V6 retains a 64MP zoom camera, it now supports CIPA 6.5 anti-shake capability. It has a 50MP (1/1.56-inch + OIS) main camera, a 50MP ultrawide-angle shooter, and a laser focus sensor.

At the front face, the OEM has used a 20MP lens on the cover screen and a 20MP lens on the inner display. AI features ensure sharper low-light shots, better auto-edits, and smarter scene recognition, all of which make photos better.

Magic V6 folding handset runs Android 16 with MagicOS 10, and Honor has also packed new AI tools that are amazingly helpful. For instance, the all-new AI Document Edit that eases your meetings with quick summaries, turns an image into a document, AI conference, and more.
