A new AI facial photo-editing feature coming to these Huawei phones

Huawei has now unveiled a new AI facial photo-editing feature for its top-edge phones called the “screen wrinkle removal”. The capability ensures that your every shot remains free of all kinds of glass glares, reflections, and even fine aging traits.

The Chinese firm offers several facial photo-editing features to its devices. From the best expressions to cloud enhancement and more, the company has several interesting tools to beautify an image and its main subject.

In the latest edition, Huawei is bringing another fun and useful AI facial photo-editing feature for its phones. From the name, the screen wrinkle removal tool smartly eliminates moire patterns on the screen generated while capturing pictures.

Moire patterns refer to visual interference artifacts that often appear as unwanted wavy lines, ripples, or strange rainbow-like colors on the screen while shooting.

Note that these patterns are not an issue in the camera or the display, but an optical illusion caused by the contrast of two fine grid patterns: the screen’s pixels and the camera’s sensor pixel grid. Gladly, Huawei has now found a solution to it.

Huawei is rolling out this new feature with the HarmonyOS 6.0.0.130 software update for the Mate 80 series phones at present. Though it may soon expand the respective capability to more compatible devices. In the meantime, you can check the changelog:
