A Samsung Galaxy phone is making huge headlines on the internet for featuring a 9600mAh battery for the very first time! It’s really surprising, and all the credit goes to Honor’s silicon-carbon battery technology. Wait, what? Let’s check out!
The story begins at the MWC 2026 platform, where Honor showcased its Magic V6 with the power-packed silicon-carbon battery technology. The cell uses around 32% silicon, enhancing the energy density of the folding smartphone.
Following the introduction, a YouTuber thought of trying an experiment with the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold by packing Honor’s new battery tech solution in it.
Scotty Allen from the Strange Parts channel on YouTube has seeded the Honor silicon-carbon battery to the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold phone, increasing the cell capacity from 5600mAh to 9600mAh – a difference of 4000mAh (71% jump).
To begin with, Scotty opened the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold carefully and pulled out its original battery pack. In addition, he removed the significant battery management system, which is responsible for the battery’s operation.

Hereafter, the YouTuber put three Honor silicon-carbon batteries inside the device. Since these new cell parts were bigger than the original ones, Scotty used custom plates for fitting the newbies inside the tri-foldable.

After several attempts, Scotty succeeded in its experiment to some extent and managed to operate the new Galaxy Z TriFold with a 9600mAh cell. Of course, the new mission was not entirely successful. Some of the flaws in this experiment were:
- White line on the phone’s display
- Removal of key components to adjust the battery
- Lags and buffering amid the usage
Anyways, the overall experiment suggests that if Samsung wants, it can actually use a larger battery capacity for its devices. All it needs is the right battery technology, just like HONOR.
