Honor Power 2 has become a part of a major discussion over its design concept, as it looks identical to Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro models. But the question is, did the Chinese company really copy its competitor’s idea and call it a marketing strategy?
After a long wait, Honor has finally responded to this matter.
Power 2 sparked a debate between Apple and Honor fans as soon as it showed its appearance via teasers. Of course, the reason is that Honor Power 2 appeared as a replica of the iPhone 17 Pro design.
Even though Honor tried to draw the attention of consumers to the key specs like battery, communication, and other prime factors of the device, it continued to spark heated discussion over its looks and the same color.
Some netizens and social media bloggers even said that Honor Power 2 only has two rear cameras. The third one is an infrared sensor. But the company has smartly played this move and tried to make its device more like Apple’s flagship.
“The design of the Honor Power 2 phone is inspired by Apple. The phone actually only has two rear cameras, but to look more like Apple, it is designed with three imaging rings, one of which is an infrared module.” – said a tipster.

Honor’s Response:
According to some reports on Weibo, the Honor Customer Service replied to this matter saying that the company has adopted this design to balance the imaging hardware, heat dissipation, and the overall grip of the device.
The company further stated that mature designs will naturally attempt to reach a consensus. It means that for any given problem, the best and most effective designs will lead to similar forms.
Honor personally didn’t comment on this matter yet. Though the point from the customer service department suggests that Chinese firms will probably continue to adopt such patterns for their phones that are an optimal solution to manufacturing challenges, even if those patterns belong to their rivals!
