Huawei has introduced the iconic Enjoy 90 smartphones at the March 23 launch event, powered by an in-house chip and OS. The company seeded these devices with some flagship-level components, promising a more intuitive experience to users.
At the same time, Huawei has called the Enjoy 90 series launch move its real comeback in the smartphone market. Why and how? Let’s dive into the details.
The CEO of Huawei Consumer Business, He Gang, announced during the event that the company is finally stepping back into the mobile phone market in full swing.
Later, the Chairman of Huawei Consumer Business Group and Executive Director, Richard Yu, shared a post on Weibo saying the Enjoy 90 series with the in-house chip and OS components has truly marked the company’s re-entry to the market!
Following these announcements, netizens asked Richard Yu what the term full return means. Before the official’s response, another netizen answered – “From now on, it’s all Kirin chips.”
This is a real achievement for the company after dealing with a variety of tough challenges – from the US sanctions to chip manufacturing for its devices. Yu said:
“Today, the Enjoy 90 series, powered by the Kirin chip and the new HarmonyOS operating system, was launched, marking Huawei’s full return to the mobile phone market! Thank you to all the friends who have supported and accompanied us along the way.”

In 2019, the US ban snatched Huawei’s potential in the smartphone market by restricting it from using cutting-edge technologies. For years, it had to rely on low-efficiency (4G) Snapdragon chipsets when other brands were running 5G SoCs.
The tables turned in 2023 when the company introduced the Mate 60 Pro with Kirin 9000s 5G. But still, it had to depend upon Qualcomm for its entry-level handsets.
However, things are finally coming into Huawei’s favor. Now the company aims towards a global expansion. It would be interesting to see when it will accomplish this goal!
