Huawei is bringing a new gallery feature for HarmonyOS 6 smartphones. This new capability will enable users to easily view or edit their photos + videos stored in their home storage. Though you will require the Huawei Home Storage device.
The Huawei Smart Life channel on Weibo officially announced a major upgrade for the Home Storage device, which is directly linked with the HarmonyOS 6 phones.
According to the details, the HarmonyOS 6.0 smartphones will now get a special gallery feature called “Gallery Collaboration”. The new add-on will ease the editing process for those media files that aren’t stored in the main device but in Home Storage.
Huawei Home Storage is an intelligent Network Attached Storage device powered by HarmonyOS, designed for easy, secure, and automatic data backup of phones, tablets, and even PCs.
But it often becomes very difficult to edit those images or videos, stored in the Home Storage right through your main device, such as a smartphone or tablet.
Good News is that Huawei is now introducing the Gallery Collaboration feature for HarmonyOS 6 devices, allowing users to view or edit media files easily using Huawei Gallery, even when they are in the home storage.
Further, users can easily edit these stored photos or videos directly on the Gallery app without having to download them back from the Huawei Home Storage.
In case you are unable to use this feature, then follow these steps:
- Open the Huawei Smart Life App
- Select the Family Storage Card
- Enter the Sync and Backup Settings
- Turn on the Gallery Sync Mode
One can also follow the same instructions through the Huawei Gallery by selecting the Gallery Data Sync and selecting Home Storage.
