Honor and ARRI have partnered at MWC 2026 to introduce cinematic cameras for the future flagship smartphones, and it appears the top-tier Magic 9 series will be the first regular phone lineup to showcase this innovative integration.
SmartPikachu recently revealed that the Honor Magic 9 series will feature ARRI-powered cameras. The company has already used some of ARRI’s imaging technologies in the ROBOT PHONE, flaunting a cinematic-like camera experience for users.
Now the company might adopt these cutting-edge cameras for the Magic 9 smartphones, bringing the same filmic imaging capabilities to photo-capturing lovers.
The tipster suggested that Honor has started testing ARRI camera tech + imaging capabilities for the Magic 9 series. However, it didn’t detail these additions yet.

ARRI is a German producer of motion picture cameras and lighting tech solutions. It is primarily known as a major film industry brand and is also dedicated to connecting creativity and future technologies for moving shots.
During the MWC event, Honor revealed that ARRI has defined the visual language of cinema for generations. With the new collaboration, the tech giant aims to bring those cinematic standards and professional workflows into mobile imaging.
ARRI said at MWC26:
“Consumer smartphones have already become a serious tool in professional filmmaking… that’s why we believe it is time to bring these worlds even closer together. For the first time ever, core elements of ARRI Image Science integrates directly into a consumer device.”
What new changes ARRI camera technologies will bring to the Magic 9 series is unclear at present. Though one can expect cinema-quality color and professional imaging functions with the new additions. Perhaps all photos and videos could appear more film-like than those of other phones.
As Xiaomi has Leica, OnePlus has Hasselblad, and Vivo uses Zeiss imaging technologies, Honor is shaking hands with ARRI to enhance its camera features to a greater extent.
