Wait, what? Honor has launched the Magic 8 Pro smartphone globally, but there is no sign of the standard version on the global site. Does that mean the company has announced the Magic 8 vanilla model exclusively for its home-ground users?
Honor launched the Magic 8 Pro globally on November 27. The device has been available outside China in only three colors: Sunrise Gold, Sky Cyan, and Pure Black.
The Magic 8 Pro features the same slim-trim design as its Chinese sibling. However, something that’s missing from the frame is the Honor Magic 8 base model.
Does the company have some other plans related to this phone variant? Whether it will launch the respective device later in the market or won’t unveil it globally at all is a major question to be resolved. Ahead of that, let’s explore the global Magic 8 Pro.
Specifications
Magic 8 Pro global version has a 161.15 x 8.32 x 75mm measurement and a 219 grams of weight. The device carries a 6.71-inch OLED screen with FHD+ resolution (1256 X 2808), 6000 nits peak brightness, NanoCrystal Shield, and 120Hz refresh rate.

The smartphone packs the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset coupled with the Adreno 840 GPU. It pre-installs the MagicOS 10 (Android 16) operating system and comes with two RAM + storage options: 12GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB.
In terms of cameras, the Magic 8 Pro sports a 50MP ultra night camera (f/1.6 aperture, 1/1.3-inch, OIS, 4-in-1 2.4µm large pixel output) + a 50MP ultrawide-angle camera with 122° wide angle and 2.5cm HD macro photography + a 200MP Ultra Night telephoto camera with 3.7x optical zoom and OIS.
For the front face, Honor has used a 50MP selfie camera with a 3D depth sensor for facial authentication. It has beautiful shooting modes like the telephoto night portrait to offer stunning shots with a delicate skin texture at night.
Meanwhile, the Stage Mode ensures that it keeps up with the complexity of the stage lights and captures character outlines with precision, irrespective of any backgrounds.
Yes, the battery is once again downgraded, but this time, slightly. The global Magic 8 Pro smartphone has a 7100mAh cell pack with a 100W wired and 80W wireless superfast charging. The rest of the features are the same as the Chinese variant.
Price: Honor Magic 8 Pro is currently available in Malaysia with a price of RM4599 for the 12GB + 512GB storage version and 16GB + 1TB costs for RM5199. It will probably be available for sale on December 5.
