If you love a pill-shaped cutout on the smartphone screen, then the Honor Magic 9 series could break your heart as it is planning a big design shift. Rumors have it that the upcoming Magic flagship phones could ditch their signature pill-shaped look.
Earlier, SmartPikachu stated that smartphone users who prefer the pill-shaped cutout can buy the Magic 8 phones as long as they are available in the market.
At the time, the leak remained suspicious. But the same tipster now says that the Honor Magic 9 series can ditch the pill-shaped cutout in favor of a new design!
The tipster said that Honor is exploring a magnificent design solution that can optimize the “capsule” (pill-shaped cutout) removal. The company will use a larger flat screen for the upcoming flagship with a special front face appearance.
Apart from abandoning the curved screens for its flagship phones, Honor may also be ending support for a pill-shaped cutout that it has been using for years.

Honor V30 series was probably the first lineup to feature a pill shape look on the face. The style continued for several years until the Magic 6 series debuted in the market.
Unlike the Magic 5 phones, the Honor Magic 6 Pro introduced a pill-like cutout at the center of the screen with a dual front-facing camera system. The same appearance continued for the Magic 7 and last year’s top-edge Magic phones.
But the company is seemingly planning a big front design change for this year’s Magic flagship. The company has not confirmed any details on this matter yet. Hence, let’s take this input with a grain of salt at the moment.
Ahead of the Magic 9 series, we will have the Magic V6 foldable on the stage. The device will launch next month alongside the ROBOT PHONE. It has already passed the 3C certificate with top-of-the-line charging speed.
