Honor knows well how to maintain the balance of every specification in its flagships – from camera to battery capacity, and it is now seeking epic plans for the Magic 9 series. It will likely win the award for the largest flagship battery in 2026.
Several reports on Weibo suggested that Honor has started testing 8000 and 9000mAh battery capacities for the upcoming flagship. Besides, it has some new battery-related technologies that will further enhance the device’s cell health.
Inputs further reveal that one of the above mentioned battery (probably with the least capacity) could be for the standard Magic 9 model, while the company may use the other option for the Magic 9 Pro handset.
Of course, the news lacks accuracy for the time being. Though Honor has a history of launching dynamic battery phones to date. Even one of its tablets holds the largest cell pack in the market. Thus, we can believe this point to some extent.
If we go with the leaked info, it seems Honor has epic battery plans for the Magic 9 series. Though these strategies are currently under wraps and sneaking from the ‘leak’ segment.
As 2026 kicks into gear, battery capacity has become that one spec which is gaining more spotlight than ever. Several brands like realme, Xiaomi, and more are prepping devices with the largest cell packs.
But for now, Honor is leading the way in entry-level, mid-range, and even flagship phones in terms of the biggest battery. Last year, the company lost the cell pack game to the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, featuring a 7500mAh battery capacity.
- Magic 8 Pro: 7200mAh
- Xiaomi 17 Pro Max: 7500mAh battery
Perhaps this time, Honor is in full swing to defeat its Chinese rivals in the smartphone battery segment. However, we have to wait for some more time to see if the official news aligns with the ongoing leaks and rumors.
