Honor Magic V6 has a lot to impress, like its battery, slimness, and more, but the company chose a unique durability test to draw attention to the hinge part, and must say, it has shown what a true “strong hinge” upgrade looks like to its rivals.
Unlike Samsung and OPPO, Honor opted for a serious durability test to showcase the Magic V6 foldable’s hinge technology. Instead of folding or unfolding the device multiple times, it chooses nature to define the strength of its creation.
Remember the video teaser, where Honor asked a 30-year-old YouTuber – Joe Weller, to cross a river using Magic V6 on the zipline? Well, the result of this testing is now out!
The YouTuber has climbed a tree and jumps off on a zipline secured only by the Magic V6 foldable from all four corners. Surprisingly, he reached from one end to another using this mechanism, without any fall.
Before launching himself on the zipline, the YouTuber strapped a 25kg backpack and a 50kg case (one by one) on it to see if it’s really worth the risk.

Later, he himself went to another corner using that zipline (which weighs around 80kg). After going through varied weights, the question stands whether the foldable was in the right condition. The answer is YES.
Joe immediately checked the phone – there were no scratches or bends. In fact, the device captured super clear and color-rich shots right after the test. That shows Honor has really used a dynamic hinge technology for the Magic V6 foldable.
The new-gen Magic foldable packs a super steel hinge tech with 2800MPa which is nearly double the strength of a car’s A-pillar. Moreover, it has gone through 500,000 folding cycles, promising impressive durability at every point.
