Samsung seemingly has quite big battery ambitions for 2026, but it looks like Honor is ready to shatter these dreams with its 13000mAh mega cell pack phone. The Chinese tech giant is reportedly working on its biggest battery plan to date.
Batteries have become one of the most important topics for smartphone brands. Every other tech vendor is trying to seed a big cell pack in its latest flagship creation.
While Honor already mastered the “biggest battery seeding” skill last year with several models, Samsung is on the verge of adopting the same ideas for its Galaxy phones.
According to a report, Samsung is reportedly testing new silicon-carbon batteries with 12000mAh and 18000mAh capacities. That’s really bigger than many of the Honor smartphones, including the 10000mAh WIN and Power 2 handsets.
It seems Honor, too, has heeded Samsung’s ambitions and is once again ready to amaze its rival with a 13000mAh battery phone. What’s even more interesting is that the company will seed this dynamic cell pack into a very cost-effective device.
Remember when Honor surprised everyone by launching the X70 phone with the first highest-density cell pack of 8300mAh? Well, the company is bringing nearly 5000mAh capacity increase to this pack for the Honor X80 GT handset.
2025 has seen dynamic battery phones. From Honor handsets to Xiaomi 17 Pro models, several brands have shifted to cell packs over 5000mAh, except for Samsung. And Honor is seemingly set to show a “true battery upgrade” again in 2026.
Yes, the Honor X80 GT is rumored to feature a 13080mAh battery in the future. The Chinese OEM hasn’t confirmed the news yet. But looking at its previous launches like the Power 2, Honor WIN series, and Magic 8 phones, it won’t be wrong to say that the company will manage to turn this rumor into reality!
