Huawei and China Unicom accelerated 5G-A upload speed over 1Gbps


Huawei and China Unicom have recently collaborated to accelerate 5G-A upload network speed for their customers. Both parties have signed a new MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) for network solutions at an innovation launch event in Tianjin.

According to the information, Huawei and China Unicom will work on enhancing 5G-A upload network speed. The companies have jointly created the 5G-A braodband uplink demonstration trial site in China for the first time in history!

Inputs suggest that both firms have tested the 5G-A broadband and have evaluated the peak uplink rate of this network technology. Surprisingly, it has surpassed 1 Gbps for a single user.

The new achievement will help to bridge the gap between fast download speeds and slow upload speeds in the mobile network field. In the past few years, many industries suffered from this imbalance. But it’s time to say goodbye to this issue.

Both Huawei and China Unicom tested the new 5G-A broadband uplink rate at Beichen Park. The results reflect that users will finally be able to experience the best upload speed alongside the download speed.

Apart from the new demonstration site, Huawei and China Unicom have also announced a high-uplink capability experience zone at the event. As per the details, many media outlets explored the applications of Alx high-uplink technology.

Deputy General Manager of the Construction and Development Segment at China Unicom – Tian Yuanbing, said:

“The current wave of intelligentization is rapidly sweeping across all industries, and new services such as high-definition live streaming, AI Agent, and embodied intelligence are emerging, which puts forward higher requirements for the overall network capabilities, especially uplink capabilities.”
