Huawei has recently added a new-gen flagship earphone device on its shelf: FreeBuds Pro 5, and to define the capabilities of this audio wearable, the firm has shared a video where a senior official tests the earbuds in a different aspect.
Richard Yu, the Managing Director of Huawei, Chairman of the Consumer Business, and the Director of Product Investment Committee, dropped a video on his Weibo page.
In the clip, the Huawei chief tests the performance of FreeBuds Pro 5. The device can actually deliver a long-distance, stable connection without any type of interruption.
The senior official said:
“Challenge the farthest connection distance of the headphones today, follow me, test on site! How far can your headphones connect?”

During the test, Richard Yu connected the FreeBuds Pro 5 to his smartphone and played a classical song, “Dream It Possible”. After playing the song, he kept the phone on the table and began moving away from it, inserting the earbuds in his ears.
Surprisingly, the song continued to remain crystal clear even when the chief walked away more than 150 meters from his phone. That shows the new earbuds have surpassed the limit of outdated wireless headphones in terms of transmission rate.
Richard further explained that this iconic transmission has become possible due to the dual-channel design of the NearLink Audio technology in the FreeBuds Pro 5.
Unlike the Bluetooth feature, NearLink Audio layers up an extra dedicated supply channel. When coupled with the wireless Lingxi antenna, it flexibly prevents signal interference and switches to the optimal transmission path.
It further expands the transmission lane with high-bandwidth technology to increase data throughput and boost the cargo capacity per vehicle via self-made high-order modulation tech to reach 16Mbps.
As a result, the connection remains long-range and stable always. Besides, the sound quality is really impressive – thanks to the master-quality lossless music with a high transmission rate of 4.6Mbps.
